Financial Services Guide (FSG)
This Financial Services Guide (FSG) provides important information about Ipswich Insurance Brokers — the financial services we are authorised to provide, how we are remunerated, and how we handle complaints. You should read this FSG before engaging our services.
About us
This FSG is provided by WebInsure Pty Ltd (ABN 32 054 247 666) trading as Ipswich Insurance Brokers, as an authorised representative of Community Broker Network (CBN) Pty Ltd (AFSL 233750). CBN holds the Australian Financial Services Licence under which these services are provided. We are also a member of the Steadfast Group.
The financial services we provide
We are authorised to provide the following financial services in relation to general insurance products:
- Financial product advice — both general advice (without considering your individual circumstances) and personal advice (where we have collected sufficient information about your situation)
- Dealing — arranging, varying and cancelling insurance contracts on your behalf
We arrange general insurance only. We do not provide advice on life insurance, superannuation, investment products or financial planning. These services are provided by separately licensed advisers — see our Life Insurance referral page for more information.
How we are paid
When we arrange insurance for you, we receive a commission from the insurer. The commission is calculated as a percentage of the premium and is paid to us by the insurer at the time the policy is placed or renewed. The commission rate varies between insurers and products.
In some cases, we may charge a fee for our services. Where a fee applies, we will disclose the amount before you instruct us to proceed. We will provide you with a Statement of Advice (SOA) where personal advice is given, and a Record of Advice in other cases.
We are required to disclose our remuneration to you. If you would like specific information about the remuneration we receive in relation to a particular product, please ask us and we will provide this information.
Associations and relationships
Ipswich Insurance Brokers is an authorised representative of the Community Broker Network (CBN) Pty Ltd (AFSL 233750). As a CBN representative, we have access to CBN’s approved insurer panel and support services. We are also a member of the Steadfast Group, which provides additional insurer access and resources.
These associations may influence which insurers and products we recommend. We disclose this to you as required under our AFSL obligations.
Complaints
If you have a complaint about our services, please contact us directly in the first instance. If your complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, it can be escalated to AFCA — the Australian Financial Complaints Authority. Privacy
We collect personal information about you in order to arrange insurance on your behalf. How we collect, use and protect this information is described in our Privacy Policy. CBN’s privacy policy is available at cbn.au/privacy-policy.
Your duty of disclosure
You have a duty to disclose all relevant information when arranging insurance. Full details are on our Duty of Disclosure page. Failure to comply with this duty may affect your coverage and your ability to make a claim.
